Song Of The Week #6: Billy Talent: Red Flag

For this song of the week I'm doing a song by an awesome band that is extremely underrated. Billy Talent. They are a Canadian punk rock band. They are sort of like a Canadian Rise Against, they love to write political things, and have similar style, musically and looks. Their songs come in a wide range of styles but always very good. The song I picked by them is called Red Flag, If i'm not mistaken it's an anti-government song. Anyway it's very catchy so listen and enjoy :]
-Peace out beautiful people :]

Song Of The Week #5: Avenged Sevenfold: Gunslinger

This week I decided to pick a song from Avenged Sevenfold (A7X). They are my second favorite band ever after Chevelle. And it's also the band that my idol The Rev is from. They are a much different type of rock though. A7X is a thrash/metalcore band. They are a more fast paced upbeat but dark type of metal that really gets your head bobbing. People who don't like this type of music might mistake them for being your stereotypical metal band. But I don't like those type of bands, I like bands that are actually good at their instruments, that excel at them actually. And Avenged Sevenfold is a prime example. All of the members: M. Shadows (vocals), The Rev (drums/percussion/piano/backing vocals), Johnny Christ (bass), Synester Gates (Lead guitar/backing vocals), and Zachy Vengence (rhyme guitar/backing vocals) are absolutely insane at what they do. Listen to any of their songs and try to pick out an instrument in particular and you will be amazed (especially the drums ;D).
So the song I picked is not your normal A7X song, I picked the one that I like most right now. It's called Gunslinger. This song is written from the perspective of a man in the military, it's about how he misses home and clings to the thought of it to get through what he's doing. I like it a lot because I have two very close cousins that are in the United States Navy and I miss them both very much. The music itself is different from their other songs, it starts off with a really catchy southern sounding guitar lick that is fun to listen to. No drums, no bass, no lead guitar. It helps you focus on the lyrics more and actually understand the meaning. About halfway through tho after the second chorus I believe it catches you off guard very abruptly and kicks into full Avenged Sevenfold mode. With a raunchy guitar riff and much heavier vocals. I love songs that start soft and get really heavy so I really really like this song. So without further ado here is the song :D
Have a good one beautiful people :]

Song Of The Week #4: Atreyu: Ex's And Oh's

This week i'm doing a song by my favorite metalcore band, Atreyu. They are a band that mixes heavy heavy screaming with really super catchy melodic clean vocal chorus. All the while with screeching lead guitar and awesome solos. The song Ex's and Oh's is, if i'm not mistaken, a breakup song. It's a song that gets your head bobing and makes you wanna move. So listen and enjoy. Adios beautiful people :D

Song Of The Week #3: Breaking Benjamin: Diary Of Jane

Hey guys sorry I didn't do a Song Of The Week last thursday  I was out of town. Anyway this week is going to be Breaking Benjamin. BB is a hard rock icon. They are an incredibly talented bunch of guys who write great music. And at their head is a guy named Benjamin Burnly. Ben is the songwriter, singer, rhythm guitarist and the heart of BB (hence Breaking Benjamin). He is a very good at what he does and proves it time and time again.
The song I picked by them is one of their most famous songs, Diary Of Jane. This song is very melodic while still being very powerful. It has a GREAT chorus that sucks you in and makes you want to sing along. It is obviously about Ben wanting to be remembered by a girl named Jane. If that means she died or is an ex I'm not too sure. What I am sure about though is that it is a very good song.
Enjoy beautiful peoples :D

Song Of The Week #2: A Day To Remember: All I Want

Alright so here is my Song Of The Week #2. This time it's A Day To Remember. This band I haven't been listening to for very long but they have quickly become one of my favorites. They are one of those bands that is metal but sounds punk at the same time. They love to mix crazy awesome clean vocal melodies with friggin' sick screaming. I think it sounds amazing. Ok, so the song I picked is called All I Want. Which is my favorite song by them right now. It's a very fun very catchy song that's great to listen to, that also has a great meaning. It's about keeping your head and your hopes up no matter what happens. The video itself is pretty cool because they have a TON of famous people in it. They had a bunch of other famous bands they have played with in the past come on and be in the video, so you might recognize some of them :] (and for you girls I just watched the video and I just spotted Pete Wentz ;D) Anyway ADTR is an awesome band and they have a whole bunch of really good songs, so go out and listen to them, they deserve it :]
peace beautiful peoples :D

Scaly! woo!

For all of you Bulls fans out there, (like me) lets give it up for the one, the only.... Scalabrine!! For those of you who don't know. Mr. Brian Scalabrine was until recently a player on the Bulls and before then the Celtics. He was normally.....not the best player. He did have his moments but the Bulls normally wouldn't put him in unless they are way ahead, and that was just to please the crowd because everyone LOVES Scaly. When he goes in you could always just hear the Bulls fans erupt in cheer haha. He is just very entertaining to watch because you never know what he's going to do next, be it good or bad haha :] So for you guys who wanna see him play I put a "highlights" video at the end of this. So check him out. And all hail Scalarine :]

New weekly post!! Song Of The Week #1: Chevelle: Fizgig

Hey guys. So I was thinking about this blog earlier and thinking. "Damn there's no way I have enough to say to post on it all of the time. Well I came up with an idea :D Since my blog is going to be music based  I'm going to share one of my favorite songs with you guys once a week. So I hope you guys love rock music cuz I know I do :] None of that rap crap :p A wise man once told me; "Life is like a box of candy, you gotta throw away the rappers" haha anyway. So if I don't forget (which I probably will sometimes) I will post a new song on here once a week starting today. So probably every Thursday. So without further ado, here is my first ever Song Of The Week :]

I thought since it's my first Song Of The Week I might as well do a song from my favorite band EVER. Chevelle :]
This is a very talented band that you should all listen to. They are my favorite band for a reason, THEY FRIGGIN ROCK! haha They have six studio albums, two live CDs, and one greatest hits CD (which they call "A Collection Of Favorites" So they have plenty of music to choose from. So please go check them out, they really are worth listening to.
So I picked a song that is not on one of their normal albums but it was released on their greatest hits album. It was a promotional thing, and I think it worked haha. It's the only song on the CD that was previously unreleased. And it came out last year, so it's relativily new. The song itself is very different for Chevelle. It has a very Toolish vibe to it which brings me back to Chevelle's first CD before they developed their own sound. And don't reject the song because of the lyrics because they are VERY odd. (you will see what I mean) The way Pete Loeffler writes his songs is in almost 100% metaphors. Pretty much every song is just an extended metaphor in itself. He is a really smart guy. So it really does have a really deep meaning to it. But this song is about as odd as it gets for them. Anyways I really do love this song, it has an extremely catchy riff and an awesome melodic sound. So please enjoy and listen to more Chevelle cuz they friggin kick ass :D

A taste of The Rev :D

This is his amazing drumming and all of the vocals you hear are him. Listen to the full song it is amazing :D

"The Rev"

James Owen "The Reverend" Sullivan. He is one of my three idols. He was an absolutely AMAZING musician. He was best known for being the drummer of the Thrash Metal band Avenged Sevenfold. Which is my second favorite band ever :D He didn't only write the drums for A7X he wrote a lot of the songs himself, he has background vocals on many of their songs, he wrote some guitar riffs, and he wrote all of the piano for them. He truely was a musical genious. RIP Jimmy. You were, are and always will be my idol.

My first blog post ever

Hey there, I have never made a blog before. The closest I have come is Myspace back in the day. Haha that makes me feel old. Oh well so this is my first blog post ever. Basically music is my whole life. I have tons of other hobbies but music is my main one. I'm a drummer and play every day.
